Team 25 Racing has evolved over the past 30 years to the present format. From Scott's earliest involvement watching his father racing, through to competing at all levels in offshore powerboating, this exciting team still has the ambition and desire that will ensure that 100% effort will be applied to reach the goals set - watch this space!

In 1977 an Oxford based team was assembled for the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes, headed by Bill Younger (Scott’s father) the boat, a 37’ Shead designed, Allday Alluminium monohull, ‘Ford Persuader’ No. 350 was entered. Despite making good progress in the race, Bill suffered a minor breakdown that hampered his overall progress. However, with much determination he successfully completed the race in just 6 hours, 1 minute and 5 seconds, an average speed of just 38.7mph. Not too bad when you consider that he had to stop every 30 minutes to fill up with oil due to a leaking seal on one of the two 300hp Sabre Marine diesel engines. A race team was born...

Following several successful seasons in Class III 2 litre, it was time to move up to the next level.

The former Hospitality Inns 25' Phantom was purchased, and the team secured sponsorship from Cellular Services, allowing the team to compete in Class III 4 litre.

In search of greater competitive speed and performance, the team purchased a 25' Cougar SportCat and with further sponsorship secured from a local company, a further 2 seasons followed.

Following a break from competing of nearly 20 years the team decided to compete once again and an Extreme 24 Sport raced successfully in 2 races this year.

From these small successes the decision was taken to seek a new boat to allow the team to compete in longer and higher profile endurance events.

Sunseeker XS 2000 succesfully competed in the Marathon Series,

June: 2nd overall in the Cancer Charity Race,  1st Marathon boat and 1st diesel boat.

August: Needles Trophy Race (round 1), despite leading after first lap by over a minute an unfortunate spin put the team out of the race.

August: Cowes-Torquay-Cowes (round 2), 1st boat to Torquay.

October: South Coast Marathon (round 3), 3rd in class.
