Success for Team 25 Racing at the South Coast Marathon
The South Coast Marathon race organised by the BPRC and held at the team's home at Drivers Dry Berthing in Southampton was completed on Saturday 17th October. A cold, clear morning greated all the teams and as we made our way down to the muster area at East Lepe in the Solent it was apparant that it was going to be difficult for us in the calm weather to compete with some of the faster boats. We had a good run down to the turn mark at Portland and headed towards the shoreline east of Weymouth. The seas were quite confused and we battled closely with one of our class competitors, changing positions several times before turning and heading for home. For over 25 miles we battled with Team Relentless, sadly being beaten at the line into 3rd position. A good result given the weather and a great end to the 2009 season.
